Annual Institute     

The Annual Institute is the meeting of the Rio Grande Valley Horticultural Society, has been held annually since 1946. Invited oral presentations are made by outstanding speakers from all over the world on the latest in research relavent to the horticultural industry in South Texas, and on important issues of interest to Valley agriculture. Volunteer poster presentations are displayed by scientists on topics of importance to horticulture. Students from various universities make presentations in both oral and poster form, and awards are given to recognize and encourage outstanding student performance.

Other business at the Annual Institute includes presentation of the A.T. Potts award for outstanding service, a business meeting, lunch, and an evening program which provides the latest horticultural information for home and garden.
